Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up and operate SMT equipment, including screen printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens.
Load and unload components onto SMT machines according to production specifications.
Monitor machine performance and adjust settings as needed to maintain optimal output and quality.
Inspect printed circuit boards (PCBs) for soldering defects, component placement accuracy, and overall quality.
Perform manual touch-up soldering when necessary.
Utilize inspection tools such as microscopes and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machines.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of SMT machines to ensure smooth operation.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues; escalate major problems to maintenance technicians or supervisors.
Maintain accurate maintenance and repair logs.
Record production data, including quantity produced, defects, and downtime.
Complete necessary documentation for each production run.
Report production issues or quality concerns to the supervisor.
Work closely with the engineering team to implement process improvements.
Collaborate with quality control and other production staff to ensure a seamless workflow.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate in electronics or related field preferred.
Experience in SMT operation or electronics manufacturing preferred but not required.
Familiarity with SMT equipment such as screen printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and AOI machines preferred but not required.
Basic understanding of electronic components and PCB assembly preferred but not required.
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and assembly instructions.
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface operations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Manual dexterity to handle small electronic components.
Good vision or corrected vision to see small details.
