Environmental Compliance Specialist (SWPPP Inspector)

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team, playing a vital role in safeguarding water quality and ensuring regulatory adherence. In this position, you will conduct comprehensive inspections of construction sites to verify compliance with Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and applicable environmental regulations, effectively mitigating the impact of construction activities on local waterways.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct Rigorous Site Evaluations: Perform meticulous on-site inspections to assess compliance with approved SWPPPs, identifying and documenting potential non-compliance issues.

Document and Analyze SWPPP Protocols: Review and evaluate SWPPP documentation, including maps, engineering drawings, and maintenance records, to ensure accuracy and procedural effectiveness.

Evaluate Best Management Practice (BMP) Implementation: Assess the efficacy of implemented BMPs, such as sediment control measures, erosion prevention techniques, and spill containment protocols.

Generate Comprehensive Inspection Reports: Accurately document inspection findings, including photographic evidence and detailed observations, and produce clear, concise reports outlining recommendations for corrective actions and follow-up procedures.

Effectively communicate with construction site owners, operators, and contractors regarding identified compliance issues and necessary remedial actions.

Maintain Regulatory Expertise: Stay abreast of evolving federal, state, and local stormwater regulations and permit requirements, ensuring consistent compliance.

Participate in Professional Development: Engage in relevant training workshops and seminars to enhance knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory updates.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in construction site inspections, environmental compliance, or a related field.

Strong understanding of SWPPP principles, BMP implementation, and stormwater regulations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce detailed and accurate reports.

Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects effectively.

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
