Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: Gardnerville, NV

Pay Rate: $18/hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview:

We’re seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to help maintain the safety, cleanliness, and overall functionality of our buildings, parks, highways, and grounds. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors and indoors, and values public service. You'll play a key role in ensuring our facilities are safe and welcoming for all.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform general cleaning and sanitization using proper tools and methods.

- Conduct light repairs and maintenance, including painting, minor plumbing, graffiti removal, and plant control.

- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and custodial equipment.

- Inspect and upkeep park areas, athletic fields, campsites, and walking paths.

- Identify and report maintenance issues or potential hazards.

- Keep accurate records and complete reports related to maintenance tasks.

- Follow all safety protocols while working with chemicals, tools, and in varied environments.

What We’re Looking For:

- Strong team player with the ability to also work independently.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Willingness to work in diverse conditions including extreme weather, dust, odors, and around cleaning agents or electrical components.

- Physically capable of performing job duties (reasonable accommodations available as needed).

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED.

- At least one (1) year of experience in custodial or maintenance work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

- Familiarity with basic maintenance and custodial practices.

- Understanding of painting, plumbing, concrete, and plant care methods.

- Experience operating power tools and custodial equipment safely.

- Ability to read and interpret plans, maps, and written instructions.
