Reports To: Association Manager, Association Assistant Manager
Compensation: Hourly $20.00
Location: Tahoe City, CA 96145
Position summary:
Monitors activities at the pool and surrounding play areas to prevent accidents and promote safety of members and employees. Promotes positive experience for Association members.
Education and Experience Required:
American Red Cross Lifeguard Certified, in-house training available.
Ability to effectively communicate with members, co-workers, healthcare professionals, and managers, particularly in emergencies and safety sensitive situations.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Minimum of 15 years of age.
Duties to include but not limited to:
Lifeguarding pool and surrounding facilities to promote safety of members and employees. Interacting with members in a professional manner to promote positive member experience.
Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards; enforces and adheres to pool rules and regulations.
Follows emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency, administers First Aid and CPR and fills out all appropriate paperwork.
Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning.
Inspects facilities for cleanliness; completes general pool facility cleaning and maintenance duties. Responsible for the availability and safekeeping of emergency equipment (rescue tubes, backboard, signs and other equipment).
Provides general information on pool operation to patrons.
Prepares the facility for fun events such as swim competitions/games, pool parties, BBQ’s and other special events.
Ensures the pool is uncovered, vacuumed, clean, and ready for daily operations. Covers the pool and ensures automatic vacuum is running.
Assists with special events.
Cleans bathroom and shower facilities and monitors cleanliness.
Monitors tennis courts, playgrounds, and grass areas for safety and association rules violations.
Ensures all pool users are members of the association.
