Immediate opening for a Full Time Machine Shop Mechanic
Pay Rate: $21.00/Hr.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday; 6:00am-4:30pm
Location: Carson City, NV
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance Technician to perform periodic maintenance and repairs on transportation vehicles and various construction work equipment. Core Responsibilities:
- Perform complex diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and construction equipment.
- Setup and outfit new vehicles following Fleet management, DOT, and OSHA guidelines.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain autos, trucks, and construction equipment.
- Perform general welding, including structural and bodywork repairs.
- Install and maintain communications equipment and other company technologies.
- Coordinate vehicle/equipment repairs with outside vendors.
- Assist with mechanical maintenance of the command center trailer and provide outage support as needed.
- Maintain CNG station and perform CNG tank inspections.
- Manage parts, tools, supplies, and equipment inventories.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of mechanical experience with construction equipment and fleet vehicles.
- General welding, structural, and fabrication experience is preferred.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or other certifications (e.g., forklift, manlift, CNG, welding, A/C repair, air brakes) are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of auto, truck, and construction equipment mechanics.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnostic, repair, and maintenance practices.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet requirements for a Commercial Driver's License.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and DMV moving violation report.
- Experience working with basic auto shop chemicals, including regulated and hazardous waste.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds, lift up to 75 pounds, and push up to 100 pounds.
- Physical agility to perform tasks involving awkward positioning, reaching, kneeling, and standing.
- Good color vision, hearing, and ability to concentrate on tasks in potentially hazardous conditions.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions.
