Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team and manage complex electrical utility transmission and infrastructure projects. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle, from scope definition to project completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on-time, within budget, and according to specification. The ideal candidate will have a experience within transmission engineering and project management in the utilities sector, particularly within the power transmission or construction fields.Responsibilities:
Project Oversight: Manage the scope, schedule, budget, and risk for transmission and utility infrastructure projects.
Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to ensure the success of the project team, including coordinating the efforts of contractors, engineers, and internal team members.
Compliance & Visibility: Ensure that all projects adhere to compliance guidelines and that high visibility initiatives are delivered with exceptional quality.
Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including other IOUs, to drive successful project execution.
Project Planning & Scheduling: Use critical path method (CPM) scheduling for detailed planning and forecasting. Manage project timelines and deliverables while adjusting plans as needed to overcome challenges.
Documentation & Reporting: Lead team meetings, document digital notes, track project performance, and manage project documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: 15-20 years of experience in project management, specifically in utility transmission, power distribution, or construction.
Portfolio Management: Experience with managing multi-million dollar portfolios, ideally with a capital budget of $500 million or more.
Leadership & Autonomy: Proven ability to manage complex projects and teams with minimal supervision and high levels of autonomy.
Compliance & Visibility: Experience managing projects that are highly compliance-driven and have significant visibility within the organization.
Transmission & Utility Knowledge: Strong understanding of power transmission, transformers, substations, and utility infrastructure.
Software Proficiency: Experience with P6 project management software and advanced Excel skills for reporting and tracking project performance.
Certification: PMP certification preferred but not required.
Desired Skills:
Experience with electrical power distribution and generator interconnection.
Familiarity with renewable energy projects such as solar plants and battery energy storage systems.
Ability to navigate complex, non-discretionary, and data-driven projects in a highly regulated environment.
Work Environment & Schedule:
Location: Reno, Nevada.
Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, with core hours typically from 7 AM to 5 PM. Option for hybrid work arrangement with office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and flexibility on the remaining days.
Field Work: Some field work required for initial assessments or on-site project inspections.
Contract Duration: 3-year contract with the potential to transition into a full-time position.
Paid Time Off: 2 weeks of PTO and 10 paid holidays annually.

Hourly rate of $60 per hour.
