Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Paving Equipment Operator / Laborer to join our team in Las Vegas. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in paving operations and operating various asphalt machinery, including rollers, pavers, and mills. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient completion of road construction and maintenance projects.
Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation – Assist in preparing job sites by cleaning, grading, and leveling surfaces before paving.
Material Handling – Load, unload, and transport materials such as asphalt, gravel, and concrete.
Shoveling & Raking – Spread and level asphalt, gravel, or other materials using hand tools.
Operate or assist with rollers and tampers to compact surfaces for durability.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by removing debris and excess materials.
Operate paving equipment (skid steer, roller, paver, mill)
Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist in preparing surfaces for asphalt application and removal with asphalt equipment.
Apply and monitor paving process, ensuring proper thickness and smoothness using pavers and rollers.
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of paving equipment.
Work closely with crew members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in paving operations and or operating asphalt rollers, pavers, skid steers, & milling machines.
Strong knowledge of paving equipment & techniques.
Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions and stand or walk for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work efficiently as a part of a team.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain one.
CDL is a plus.
