Job Title: CMM Machine Operator

Description: A company with a longstanding community service history is seeking a CMM Machine Operator. In this role, you will oversee the operation of a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) in a manufacturing environment. Utilizing the machine, you will translate measurements and instructions into models, primarily focusing on inspection to ensure accuracy throughout production.

Responsibilities:

Inspect manufacturing and assembly drawings.

Create and document the first sample reports according to VDA 2 or PPAP standards.

Program and operate CMM equipment to inspect parts per engineering specifications.

Determine manufactured parts' quality (Pass/Fail) based on dimensional and visual inspection.

Recommend and design inspection fixtures or gauges for production purposes.

Maintain detailed and accurate dimensional inspection reports and analysis of inspection data.

Ensure safety and quality standards using acceptable housekeeping practices and 5S processes.

Administer parts approval and release procedures.

Requirements:

Highly organized with a high level of integrity.

Experience in parts approval process and first article inspections.

Working knowledge of VDA2 or PPAP standards.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Fluent in GD&T according to ASME Y14.5 and ISO tolerancing specs.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

AS/BS engineering degree or equivalent work experience.

Proficiency in WM | Quartis Measuring Software and/or Wenzel CMM equipment preferred.

Previous experience with precision measuring equipment, including CMM in a manufacturing environment.

ISO/ATF training is a plus.

Familiarity with PC DEMIS software.

Internal audit experience preferred.

Additional Information:

The CMM Operator mounts or installs tools, attachments, fixtures, or workpieces on CMM.

Operates CMM equipment to measure, inspect, and test production materials and components using previously prepared inspection programs.

Reads and interprets blueprints and specifications.

Typically requires 2-4 years of related experience.
