JT4is hiring Communications Electronic Technician I & II’sfor their Beatty, NV, Tonopah, NV &Las Vegas, NVlocations.

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for all branches of the US military under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

Job Summary Essential Functions/Duties

Working under direct supervision of a group lead or higher-level technician, an Electronic Technician I specializes in ground-based electronic systems.

Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:

Perform work on various types of electronic equipment and related devices through a combination of installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction, and testing.

Operate and maintain electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, microwave amplifiers and transmission lines, low-voltage (0-50 volts) power supplies and keying circuits, indicators and displays, and antenna positioning systems.

Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data and test equipment.

Understand basic network troubleshooting, such as using ping, traceroute, IP address and network structure (Level II).

Diagnose equipment malfunctions and effect repairs to restore equipment to required operating condition.

Manipulate computer keyboards and view and interpret computer displays.

Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing equipment.

Perform other job-related duties, as required.

Other Responsibilities

Each employee must read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality, training, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to their job.

Working Conditions

Employee will be required to work some shift work, at remote locations, and occasional over-night assignments.

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor duties may be performed on even or uneven surfaces, which may be dry or wet. Grease or oil may be found on working surfaces. Outdoor duties may be performed on gravel or shingled roof. Climbing stairs, ladders, towers, and scaffolds, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., (anything heavier requires two or more people or mechanical assistance) are required. A government vehicle is used on an as-needed basis.

Desired Qualifications

Valid Security + certification is desired.

Experience working with various network equipment manufacturers such as Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, General Dynamics, Collins Aerospace

Requirements Education, Technical, and Work Experience

Education and/or training in electronics from an accredited college, technical school, or equivalent military training is required for this position. Three years of hands-on experience are required for the Level II position. Must be a US citizen and must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance.

In addition, a Communication Technician I must possess the following qualifications:

Ability to set up, maintain, and repair electronic systems and devices.

Ability to diagnose malfunctions, perform tests, and follow technical manuals to ensure proper functioning of equipment.

Basic understanding of general electronics.

Familiarity with electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems.

Familiarity with test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment.

Familiarity working with various tools and equipment.

Basic troubleshooting and soldering skills.

In addition, a Communication Technician II must possess the following qualifications:

Demonstrated proficiency in general electronics.

Familiarity working with various tools and equipment.

Interpret drawings, training manuals, and instructions in order to perform duties.

Good understanding of electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems.

Good understanding of test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment.

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot/repair to the component level and competency in soldering.

Experience with tubes, transistors, logic gates, and/or high-power radio frequency (RF) devices.

Salary

Level I: This position pays an hourly AWD rate of $34.79 /hour (Tonopah & Beatty location) $30.64 / hour (Las Vegas)

Level II: This position pays an hourly AWD rate of $36.70 / hour (Tonopah & Beatty) $32.27 / hour (Las Vegas)
