Job Purpose:
The Welder will be responsible for performing various welding tasks, primarily involving the joining of metal components to fabricate or repair structures, equipment, and machinery. The Welder must ensure that all work is completed with high precision, adhering to safety guidelines and producing quality welds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding process and materials required.
- Set up and operate welding equipment such as MIG, TIG, or ARC welders, and related tools.
- Perform welding tasks in various positions (e.g., flat, vertical, overhead), as necessary.
- Inspect and test welded joints for quality, ensuring they meet the required specifications.
- Identify and troubleshoot welding issues, making necessary adjustments to welding processes.
- Maintain and repair welding equipment as needed to ensure proper functioning.
- Follow safety protocols and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Keep work areas clean and organized, and dispose of hazardous materials properly.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Welder in a similar role.
- Certification in welding techniques (e.g., AWS or equivalent) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of welding materials, processes, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Good understanding of safety protocols and guidelines.
- Attention to detail and precision in work.
- Physical strength and stamina to work in various positions for extended periods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
