Job description
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing the patient and the necessary instruments and materials
- Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) as directed by the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory duties, such as pouring impressions and trimming models
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
- Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene practices
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment in the dental office, including sterilizing instruments and equipment
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Follow all HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting program preferred
- X-ray certification required
- Knowledge of Dentrix software is a plus
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred
- Basic knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
- Ability to take accurate vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse rate
Skills:
- Proficient in using dental software, such as Dentrix, for appointment scheduling and record management
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Competent in taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
- Familiarity with aseptic technique to maintain a clean and sterile environment in the dental office
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members
- Understanding of medical imaging techniques used in dentistry
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Dental Assistant or someone looking to start their career in the dental field. We are looking for multiple assistants to help run the back office. Must be comfortable with using computers, digital x-rays, sterilization and working with other assistants. Experience with oral scanners a plus. Must be willing to adapt and be open-minded. Pay: starts at $16.00, based on experience
