Locally owned and operated, The Standard Tavern restaurant is looking for a reliable and knowledgeable cook for a part-time opening
available totaling approximately a 30-hour work week.
The starting pay is $16-$19 per hour depending on your experience, plus weekly bonus cash tips (and I'm not just adding that on there like some places do, only for you to find out the tips aren't really much of anything. Maybe beer money). Oh yeah, and we pay weekly on Fridays. Keep it realthat sounds like just what you could use right about now, huh? Ok then.now I can't stress enough that those who are not dependable or otherwise unreliable, please don't bother applying. This is a laid-back atmosphere with a small core of friendly employees who would welcome an honest and qualified addition to our team, but the last thing I want is to be covering your scheduled shift every week because you cant get the babysitter to come through or whatever. We are grown and all have business to handle. Just keep this in mind please. Our menu is not complex and is typical of local bars' dining options. Pizza-making experience (hand-tossed) is a plus, but not necessary. If we interview, don't make the mistake and lie thinking I won't grab some dough and test you.
I would encourage any applicant to take some time to look over our menu at TheStandardLV.com before a potential interview, because if you're serious then why wouldn't you?
The opportunity will be given to the first qualified applicant who satisfies what we are looking for. So I encourage you to keep any potential appointments for an interview. If you have cooked for even a year or so, you know how quickly situations sometimes change in a kitchen.
Feel free to stop in and fill out an application or submit a resume via email. Just ask the bartender on duty for one. Have a seat away from the bar and preferably not the booths since those are favorites, and be sure to include a working number. No TextNow or Wifi-only goofiness.
If you submit a resume or stop by to fill out an app, I assure you I will see it. Just be patient, thanks.
Lastly, the qualified candidate must be able to function independently while still maintaining a team player attitude. You need a VALID Food Handler's Card, License or ID, and social security card for employment. If you don't have all of these, I don't know what to tell you besides step your game up. Oh, there may be some occasions where lifting 80lbs. or more is necessary. Just a FYI.
Thanks and hope to see you soon!
