Atrilogy's direct client is seeking a VP, IT Database Architecture to join their team in Las Vegas, NV (or fully remote if from Texas only) on a Direct Hire basis. Position Summary Our client is looking for a VP, Database Architecture to ensure that the client's data remains safe and accessible. Responsibilities include overseeing the testing of database functions and features to ensure efficiency and consistency of operations. Essential Job Functions :
- Demonstrate superior knowledge in the field of database engineering and/or architecture at an enterprise scale
- Serve as the Lead Architect for the client's Database
- Ensure effective communication of database changes to development and support teams
- Ensure verification of database and dependent application test after change implementation
- Provide technical leadership as well as soft-skill guidance and mentoring to your staff
- Motivate your staff to document runbooks, implementation guides, standards documentation, roadmaps, and fielding escalation requests from your peer organizations
- Utilize experience in database capacity planning, performance management and disaster recovery planning, and apply this legacy knowledge to the go-forward direction that the client is taking for database platforms
- Influence and negotiate with senior leadership across functions; communicate with external parties as needed
- Develop innovative technical solutions to meet business needs, as well as provide strategic influence over resources, budget management, and planning
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering and operations roles, including experience with transformational efforts
- 5 years of experience in information and/or data architecture to include strategy, planning, and delivery oversight
- Excellent understanding of key business and technology disciplines including Master Data and metadata integration design and configuration
- Strong DB skills, with RDBMS (E.g., Oracle, SQL) as well as modern relational and unstructured data sources (like NoSQL), including cloud services (AWS/Azure). Hands on experience using tools is strongly preferred
- Experience in on-prem and hybrid cloud infrastructure, including service and cost optimization
- Experience with production and analytics data, batch, and real time / streaming, etc.
- Familiarity with optimization tools and techniques, including Bayesian modelling and variety of machine learning techniques
- Ability to manage large programs and projects will be essential
- Experience in regulated industries preferred (such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, etc.)
- IT staffing and placement such as Project Managers, Agile/Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, DBAs, Software Engineers, Mobile Developers (iOS, Android), DevOps, Automation, QA, Systems & Network Engineers, Cyber Security / Information Security Specialists, ERP, CRM, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Big Data and Creative (UI/UX, Web Design)
- Operational staffing and placement of Accounting/Finance, Human Resources, and Marketing professionals, as well as Information Technology resources.
