ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the creation of newscasts and other news programs as neededWork directly with Senior Producer, Anchors, MMJ’s and production crewsExecute Live Shots and Satellite Remotes during live newscastsSelect, assign, write and organize news storiesRespond to breaking news with urgency and accuracyRun the newscast in the control roomWill maintain an on-going breaking news story on the airCoordinate and plan future community and social story developmentWork with Multi-Media Journalists to improve story and presentationEditing skills to edit video clipsWill write news scripts, promotional teasers, headlines and topicalsWill serve as a back-up producer for other station newscasts or special programsWill work closely with Senior Producer and News Director on story/sweeps planning and coordinationResponsible for being a key communicator in the newsroom- talking with each person who will participate or provide content for that newscast (i.e. News Director, Senior Producer, Anchors, Digital, MMJ's and production crews).Understand newscast mission, station priorities and be familiar with all the platforms.Knowledgeable on daily news events, awareness of past news events and know what news in the market.Understand and follow all Telemundo Las Vegas News and NBC standards and ethics.
