The Delilah Food Runner serves guests and assists the Food Server, Bus Person, Bar, and Kitchen teams while providing prompt tableside service and genuine hospitality to everyone. The Food Runner is serves as a liaison to the kitchen team and must relay timely information from the dining room. Food Runner understands the cycle of service, has complete knowledge of food delivery etiquette, sections, table numbers, position numbers and a comprehensive understanding of all food menu items. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, procedures, techniques, as outlined in the service manual.Key Responsibilities:Daily OperationsGreet guests in a positive, friendly manner with eye contact and intentionCommunicates the needs of guests to co-workers, kitchen, and managementActively participate and contribute to pre-shift meetingsConsistently follow sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by the room managementFull knowledge and understanding of all food menu items, specifications, and allergensExpedite food from the kitchen to the tables as dictated by sequence of service and by the Chef, expeditor, or managementIs aware of all upcoming orders, status of tables expecting food, and relays this information to the Chefs and ManagementAlways verbally communicates and calls back with the expeditor to ensure that food goes to the correct table and positionRuns, delivers, and spiels food in the manner described in the service manualChecks that each table is set with proper silverware before delivering foodDescribe food upon placement on the table and answering any questions pertaining to the dishes (including changes or additions)Cleanliness and organization of liquor and beer storage areasEnsures proper set up, labeling, stocking and delivery of alcohol, non-alcoholic beverages, supplies, glasses, paper products, garnishes, and iceMaintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outletAssists with moving chairs and tables as needed based on the floor planResponsible for performing table maintenance by checking on the guest throughout serviceCompleting opening and closing side workMaintaining health code standardsMaintain table cleanliness utilizing a silent service approachBid farewell to guests, using guest’s name when known, and encourage them to returnMaintain a level of professionalismAnticipate the guests’ needs and responding appropriately with a sense of urgencyWork as a team, assisting all guests’ and employees’ needs and inquiriesPerform all other job-related duties as requestedBe familiar with all Hotel services/ features and local attractions/ activities to respond to guest inquiries accuratelyFull knowledge of designated china and garnishes for all food menu itemsComplete opening, closing, and ongoing side duties not limited to fold/stack napkins, polish glassware, polish silverware, stock glassware, restock china, restock supply cabinets and service stations, inspect cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies
