Bachelors’ Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or a related field required. Master’s in social work Preferred.

A combination of 4 years of experience in Social Services, Welfare Administration or Non- profit Administration including staff management, or another related field.

Excellent knowledge of and ability to use current Microsoft software computer programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HMIS, Adobe Acrobat, Publisher, e-mail, and the internet.

Exceptional Grant management skills and some experience with grant writing preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, telephone and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Excellent detail, organization and file management skills.

Ability to lead a team of employees and work in a team setting with other professionals.

Ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule, address multiple projects in a timely manner and take projects from beginning through completion.

Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.

Must possess a valid Nevada driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle record check.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct and oversee the operations of the Family Services Office, Food Pantry, Resource Center and Horizon Crest Apartments ensuring alignment with TSA’s mission and policies.

Develop and monitor programs for a robust Family Services operation, including planning, evaluation, and implementation of services to support clients' transition from crisis to self-sufficiency.

Ensure adequate staffing, inventory and operational effectiveness.

Foster and Maintain a strong partnership with Nevada HAND.

Maintain and enforce policies and procedures for all Family Services programs, including intensive case management processes to aid clients in achieving sustainability.

Hire, train, and supervise all assigned personnel; coordinate ongoing staff and volunteer training and development.

Conduct annual performance reviews, engage in regular staff evaluations, and manage disciplinary actions as needed.

Supervise the production of reports, statistics, and monthly allocations for all programs, ensuring compliance with HUD, HMIS, and TSA requirements, including monthly reporting to The Salvation Army Advisory Board.

Develop and manage the departmental budget in collaboration with the Finance Department, Director of Social Services, and Director of Business, monitoring and ensuring budget adherence.

Act as a community liaison, fostering partnerships with governmental and non-governmental organizations to address social issues, including housing, homelessness, food insecurity, and workforce development.

Plan, coordinate, and oversee seasonal and special events such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Back-to-School drives in cooperation with other TSA programs.

Assist in securing grants, resources and donations, organizing food drives and establishing partnerships to sustain and expand Family Services programs; manage grant audits and oversee MOU agreements with community partners.

Design and develop new programs as needed, establishing outcome measures for evaluation and accountability for funding sources.

Manage the Family Services Policies and Procedures Manual, ensuring compliance and adherence among staff.

Maintain comprehensive and organized records (physical and digital) for program operations, properties, client case files, and other pertinent documents in accordance with TSA guidelines.

Serve as a liaison to Divisional Headquarters on regional social services issues as assigned by the Director of Social Services.

Other related duties as assigned.
