Description Lisa Cole with Robert Half is in the process of recruiting a Controller to strengthen her client's financial operations team, ensuring that all financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a remote setting, with occasional visits to our office in Lincoln, California. The Controller will play a vital role in managing financial operations and leading the 2024 audit process.Responsibilities: Oversee the accounting operations, which includes the general ledger and financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. Apply GAAP accounting principles across all areas, including estimates and reserves. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations. Ensure accurate inventory accounting, which includes cost tracking, valuation, and reporting. Implement proper GAAP inventory costing, including landed cost and direct labor, and develop a manufacturing overhead methodology and application. Lead the preparation for and management of the year-end audit. Collaborate with the finance and operations teams to improve inventory control, streamline accounting processes, and optimize financial reporting. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Cooperate with external auditors and tax consultants to facilitate audits and tax preparation. Offer timely financial insights to the executive team to support strategic decision-making. Manage both in-house accounting staff and remote overseas accounting support. Oversee the processing and recording of daily transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and revenue recognition.
