Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. in Lincoln, Nebraska seeks Corp Actuarial Director.
Responsibilities: Responsible for managing all aspects of the Statutory and Tax valuation, as well as the actuarial financial reporting and analysis for the individual life business lines. The Corp Actuarial Director assists Ameritas’ Chief Actuary in meeting their objectives and accountabilities and collaborates with other actuarial areas. Specific duties include: collaborating with internal product and risk-analysis actuaries, accountants, auditors, and other associates to ensure Ameritas meets the reserve and valuation standards under various reporting basis; managing the valuation function of Ameritas, including supervising the work of others and completing projects; ensuring Ameritas’ valuation and financial procedures are up-to-date and aligned with company values and standards, as well as industry advancements and requirements; and other duties as assigned. Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental U.S., but will report to headquarters in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, or related field (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: Seven (7) years of experience in job offered or related. Other special requirements include: Three (3) years of experience working with insurance products, concepts, actuarial theory and techniques, and regulation within the insurance industry; three (3) years of experience in PBR and CRVM valuation for traditional and interest sensitive life products; three (3) years of experience advanced regulatory actuarial knowledge for year-end filings, industry surveys, and state exams; three (3) years of experience working with external and internal auditors; and four (4) years of experience leading and managing a team of actuaries. Certification as Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries also required.
