OverviewAs our NICU Nurse at St. Francis Medical Center, you’ll monitor the complex medical needs of sick and preterm infants. You’ll provide compassionate care, serving as their advocate; supporting their best interests when they cannot. To thrive in this role, you’ll heavily depend on your ability to multitask and react. You’ll clinically care for your patients, remaining focused and attentive, as you continuously monitor them throughout your shift. Your sound judgment during an emergency and rapid response are impressive. You’re calm. You’re in control. Today our hospital is a regional referral center with more than 100 physicians and more than 1100 employees working together to build a healthier community. Our goal is to provide patients with high-quality medical care close to home where they can be supported by their family friends and community.The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 9 bed Level II unit that cares for infants 32 weeks gestation and over with special needs including mechanical ventilation. We have private rooms that allow parents to stay with their infants following discharge.Responsibilities

Monitor patients' conditions and assess their needs.

Educate parents on various interventions or procedures, medications (name and purpose), exams, etc.

Assess newborns and provide care.

Communicate with the care management team.

Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state

Graduate of an accredited nursing program

One year of RN experience preferred

Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Specialty certification NRP required within 5 months of hire.

Additional certification or licensure may be required upon hire.
