In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and reviewing vulnerability and compliance scan results. Performing detailed research and analysis of scheduled and on demand vulnerability assessments and post results to the system owners. Communicating to the leadership the vulnerability posture of the organization assisting the organization with lowering the overall risk posture for threats to the systems and data. Qualified candidates will have a background in security or systems engineering.Maintain systems and execute procedures to ensure the safety of information systems assets and protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Communicate security procedures to users. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Collaborate with InfoSec engineers to review, assess and provide remediation recommendations regarding discovered vulnerabilities and their potential impact to the organization.
Communicate with system owners the recommended remediation actions providing a comprehensive remediation solution as a collaborative effort to lower the risks to the organization.
Establish communications with the organization for the release of newly identified vulnerabilities.
Conduct research and evaluate technical and cyber threat intelligence to develop in-depth analysis and assessment on threats to vulnerabilities
Track progress of vulnerability remediation with responsible system owners andor support teams.
Coordination with system owners to ensure remediation efforts are consistent with policy and escalate instances of non-compliance.
Assist with gathering organizational vulnerability reporting to leadership with tracking, remediation efforts, etc.
Typically has other unit-specific duties within the scope of the job
Execute procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction.
Identify potential threats and respond to reported security violations. Determine causes of security violations and recommend corrective actions to ensure data security.
Ensure that the user community understands and adheres to necessary procedures to maintain security.
Research and provide recommendations for adaptation of new technologies or policies.
Occasional after-hours work and participation in on-call rotations is required
On Call Rotation :You must be willing to be on call for 1 week, once every 3 months.You must be willing to work on Eastern Standard Time.The salary range for this position is $36.60/hr-$43.25/hrThis job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications ):Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline required.Experience: Minimum 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.Management Experience: N/ASkills & Abilities: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to apply technical expertise to resolve problems. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks efficiently. Ability to work on a team.Travel: Travel may be required.
Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
