Bus Mechanic - Maintenance Technician for Mountain Line

The person in this position assists in the daily servicing of all

revenue and non-revenue vehicles. Repair minor deficiencies reported by bus

operators, assist upper tier technicians with repairs, and perform most building

maintenance tasks. Coordinate efforts toward efficient operation of the maintenance

department, demonstrate effective communications with supervisors and co-workers.

Shop hours are 5:00am-11:30pm M-Sat., and 8:00am-9:30pm Sunday.

Weekly guarantee of 40 hours per week- four 10-hour shifts, 3 days off.

Schedule can be changed to meet demand. Moved to different shift, forced to work-day off, etc.

Teamsters position

Hourly rate of pay:

o $26.28-34.38 depending on Tier (1-5) per CBA

Benefits:

o Health, dental and vision through Missoula County Benefits Plan - paid by Mountain Line at 90% 1st year, 100% thereafter

o Dependents are paid at 60%

o Life Insurance, Aflac Policies, paid gym membership

o Teamsters pension - $5.61/hr. funded by Mountain Line 5-year vesting, 84 and out.

o Health Reimbursement Account - $0.50/hr. funded by Mountain Line

o Vacation – 15 days/year, prorated.

o Sick leave – 12 days/year, prorated.

o 11 paid Holidays each year, 12 on Elections years (closed on 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day)

o Comp time incentive program for safety and attendance

o Uniforms are provided.

o $850.00 Annual Tool Allowance (after probation period- 1st year is prorated)

o Longevity Program.

What you will bring:

-Safety First mindset, ability to understand occupational hazards and follow standard safety practices.

-3 years technical experience and 1-year vocational training.

-Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Class B, Type II Montana Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement.

-Vehicle information systems experience. Electrical experience a plus as more of our buses are moving to electric.

-Conflict resolution and good communication skills.

-Evening and weekend availability
