Position:

We are seeking a talented Garden Manager to join our team. The purpose of the Garden Manager is to manage the two greenhouses on property.

Primary Responsibilities:

-Organize, plan and participate in the maintenance of landscape beds and planters.

-Remove unwanted plants by manual, mechanical, or chemical means.

-Prune a variety of vegetation to improve visual appeal and health.

-Perform tasks of planting flowers, bulbs, shrubs and trees.

-Perform tasks of daily watering of flowers and other plants.

-Maintain the health of plants by removing dead and diseased tissue and encourage reblooming by removing dead flowers.

-Plant and maintain seasonal planters.

-Install new planting designs.

-Respect and safely use company tools, vehicles, equipment and report damage or problems to department supervisor.

-Perform hand digging, lifting, and physical work where needed.

-Complete all Landscaping duties as assigned.

-Perform general greenhouse tasks and maintenance.

-Ordering plants and planning and executing the planting of all displayed planters on property

-Maintaining two 20' x 60' Greenhouses.

-Proper seed and bulb collection and storage

-Seed starting

-Documentation of harvest collections and inventory of edible goods, both consumed and lost.

-Competency in planting schedules within the growing cycles of our region.

-In direct communication with our team of Chefs regarding harvest availability and projected consumables.

-Able to identify tasting notes, in collaboration with our Chefs, for each culinary-focused plant variety to ensure optimal harvesting.

-Able to deliver daily harvests in a timely manner to better serve items across our multiple restaurants.

-Understands and applies organic practices throughout the Culinary-focused growing program.

-Comprehension of collecting soil data and amending the composition and nutrients.

-Able to apply future direction of our program through observation and in-depth cataloged data collected through experience.

Looking for Team Members with:

-High school diploma, GED, and previous course work related to horticulture, ecology, etc.

-Working knowledge of plant care, identification, disease, weeds, and pruning

-Previous greenhouse experience preferred

-Proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel for data collection and organization

-Valid State Driver’s License
