We are seeking a skilled Cook/ Kitchen Help to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food handling, cooking, and food preparation and a passion for fun, sense of humor and willingness to work with our community’s elderly population. If you are passionate about creating delicious dishes and have a background in the food industry, we would love to hear from you.
Our Mission
Since 1970, the Missoula Senior Center has supported the physical, intellectual, and emotional health and well-being of seniors and served as a focal point for activities that enhance health, education, recreation, and socialization for seniors and their families in the Missoula area.
The Missoula Senior Center serves hundreds of senior citizens each day. Staff and volunteers enjoy a variety of community activities, from BBQ’s to parades to BINGO nights to pancake breakfasts.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items in compliance with established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning and development
- Ensure the kitchen meets all sanitary and safety standards
- Collaborate with the team to provide excellent dining experiences
- Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, and grinders
- Support other kitchen staff as needed
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Cook or similar role
- Knowledge of various cooking methods and procedures
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Certification from a culinary school is a plus
