As a team member of Indah Sushi, you will be responsible for preparing different types of sushi such as nigiri and maki rolls, poke and noodle bowls, among other delicious items. You will also manage the ingredients handling and preparation. It is crucial that you maintain a deep understanding of which ingredients taste well together. You will ensure quality of food and determine size of food proportions is accurate. And ensures that all food is creatively and attractively presented at all times. You'll need to be proactive and work with minimal supervision during service. Being a team player and assisting in all facets of the restaurant is a necessity. We pride ourselves on providing a fun, attractive atmosphere to our guests and that begins with our team's upbeat attitude and exciting culinary presentation.

Sushi Chef Responsibilities:

Expertly cutting, slicing, and filleting different types of fish.

Inspecting the quality of fruits, vegetables, and fish used to prepare sushi dishes and informing the Executive Chef when quality is sub-standard.

Preparing various types of sushi dishes according to established guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety.

Maintaining a clean work environment in order to prevent food contamination.

Regularly taking inventory of food supplies and other products.

Reporting any problems with kitchen equipment to the manager on duty.

Sterilizing all utensils, instruments, and equipment used in sushi preparation before every use.

Communicating with wait staff to ensure that special requests and food allergy considerations are met.

Sushi Chef Requirements:

No experience necessary in sushi restaurants (but always a bonus!)

Valid food handler's license; sound knowledge of food safety regulations.

The ability to work under pressure.

The ability to stand for long periods of time.

Excellent time-management skills.

Exceptional customer service skills.
