If you have experience in logistics and transportation, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our St. Louis, Missouri location, you will be responsible for creating and leading the North America ground strategy to achieve speed, reliability, & cost targets in support of inbound material, inter-company, and customer requirements. This individual will lead a cross functional team consisting of business unit logistics leaders, corporate operations, & audit payment resources. The North America Ground Team Leader will use Emerson’ Transportation Management System data to drive performance improvements within the North American network. Continually evolve transportation strategy to stay ahead of industry trends.In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will:

Develop, actively maintain, & communicate the North America ground sourcing plan, ensuring alignment across the organization.

Own the effort to establish & negotiate contractual agreements with key providers. Develop policies & processes to efficiently manage the administration of a contracting process within North America ground mode.

Using corporate logistics & divisional input, develop KPI’s to measure the operational and cost performance of Emerson’s ground providers.

Service provider operational performance is ultimately the responsibility of the respective mode team leader. Train & empower business unit Logistics Leaders to resolve issues locally. Act as a point of escalation when mode specific issues are beyond the scope or ability of a single business unit Logistics Leader to resolve.

Coordinate and/or implement the data analysis required to ensure continuous operational improvement as measured by established KPI’s.

Work closely with business unit Logistics and Supply Chain Leaders across the corporation to identify mode specific opportunities, risk mitigations strategies, and implement long term, balanced solutions to improve supply chain performance.

Provide mode specific expertise in the development of regional logistics strategies.

Drill down to root causes to capture relevant information.

Ensure compliance with Emerson policies & Trade Compliance expectations.

Support Emerson Social Responsibility & Sustainability Program.

Bachelor’s degree

5 or more years of logistics, transportations, operations, or supply chain experience

Prior experience leading or managing large projects.

Prior experience navigating and driving initiatives within a matrixed organization.

Experience with identifying areas of opportunities to improve service provider performance.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word).

Ability to travel 10% including travel to Mexico and Canada

Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or engineering field

Proficiency in Spanish

Understanding of transportation management systems.

Other transportation mode management experience (i.e. air-cargo, less-than-truckload, ocean, or parcel)

Self-directed with the ability to deliver time dependent results.

Experience with negotiating ground transportation contracts.

Familiarity with Less than Truckload pricing structures.
