Fleet Dispatcher

Think super-sized Lego building…Then picture moving up to 2,000 Lego barges in and out of the fleet on a monthly basis…You have now entered the world of Fleet Dispatch!  This is a fast paced, high-impact, time sensitive environment.Ingram Barge Company, the leading carrier on America’s inland waterways, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the team as a Fleet Dispatcher in Granite City, IL office. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently designing and expediting tows, coordinating the movement of barges in the fleet. Successful Dispatchers are detail oriented and have strong organizational, logistical, and analytical skills. They can evaluate situations, make decisions quickly and move on to the next item on the agenda. The ideal candidate works well across teams, is willing to learn and grow, and exercises good judgment.What you’ll be doing:Coordinating the efficient movement of barges in and out of the fleetsAssisting with the management of fleeting operationsCollaborating with internal and external departmentsAssisting in the management of fleet barge capacityMaintaining accurate data collection, entry, and reporting into production systems such as FMS, iLog, UTMCustomer, vendor and facility visitsProviding emergency coverage, when needed for the Gulf fleets.Participating in local harbor groupsInterfacing with related government agencies as per IBCO policy and proceduresUpdating and maintaining reports and systems
