Job Description

Cash App is looking for a Data Engineering Lead to join the leadership team that builds and manages a Customer Success Data Engineering team for our Customer Operations group.

This role will be within our Cash Customer Operations team, building the strategy, infrastructure, processes, and tools which maximize customer happiness, team happiness, and operational efficiency.

You will need to lead a team of data engineers to synthesize the vast amount of data captured by Cash, and partner closely with your leadership counterparts. You will collaborate with key support team stakeholders to craft strategies that will enhance the availability of helpful data to our organization. You will also work with other Cash teams to design and execute measurement strategies through tooling automation.

The successful candidate will combine a passion for innovation and automation with the ability to build, engage, and retain a team of highly talented data engineers. Ideally, this person will have worked in a similar role (operations, support, analytics), and will feel comfortable interacting with other stakeholders and senior management on a regular basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, with major in Information Technology, Analytics, Computer Science or other technical field strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of data engineering experience in product/support analytics and/or business operations
  • 2+ years experience in people management
  • Advanced SQL: schema and ETL design, query optimization, data pipeline maintenance, data visualization platforms (e.g. Tableau, Looker)
  • Familiarity with scripting/programming for data mining, modeling and ETL development (Python preferred)
  • Ability to proactively define the long-term vision and strategy that will offer the right data to CCO Support, unlocking key data visibility and insights
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize between a plethora of tasks, accurately scoping out level of effort and impact to the business in order to determine priority order.
  • Proven ability to hire and develop top talent
  • Creative problem-solving and a can-do attitude to overcome obstacles, get things done
