Position Title: Warehouse Lead

Wage: $22-$25/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm + occasional OT on Saturday

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Warehouse Lead for a company in Springfield, MO. This is a contract to hire role.

Warehouse Lead Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Supervise and manage a team of machinists, operators, and shop personnel, ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity

- Provide hands-on leadership in the shop, mentoring employees and promoting a collaborative and safe work environment

- Assign tasks based on skill level and workload, monitoring work performance and providing coaching and training as needed

- Enforce adherence to company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations

- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members

- Oversee day-to-day operations of the metal and aluminum machining processes, ensuring that jobs are completed on time and to specification

- Ensure proper setup and operation of CNC machines, manual lathes, mills, drills, saws, grinders, and other power tools

- Troubleshoot issues with equipment, recommend repairs, and ensure proper maintenance schedules are followed to minimize downtime

- Monitor and inspect work produced by the team to ensure all products meet required specifications and tolerances

- Verify measurements using hand tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and mathematical calculations (fractions, decimals, and ratios)

- Perform regular quality checks and maintain high standards of craftsmanship, ensuring that workpieces are free of defects and meet customer expectations

- Manage raw materials, tools, and consumables, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage

- Coordinate with purchasing or inventory control to ensure timely delivery of materials needed for production

- Maintain accurate records of inventory and material usage to minimize waste and optimize shop efficiency

- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations

- Address any safety concerns promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary

- Maintain production logs, tracking work completed and providing regular updates to upper management

- Assist in preparing reports related to production metrics, downtime, and employee performance

- Ensure all work orders and projects are accurately documented, including material usage, time spent, and any challenges encountered

Warehouse Lead Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a machine shop or industrial setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role

- Extensive experience working with both hand and power tools, such as drills, saws, grinders, and lathes

- Proven ability to manage a team in a fast-paced, production-driven environment

- Strong leadership skills and the ability to supervise employees in a manufacturing environment

- Strong mathematical skills, with the ability to work with numbers, fractions, decimals, and measurements accurately

- Experience with blueprint reading, CAD drawings, and interpreting technical specifications

- Familiarity with CNC programming and machine setup is a plus

- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues with tools and machinery

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and feedback to a diverse team

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

- Ability to foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and maintain high morale

- Ability to lift up to 60lbs regularly and stand or walk for extended periods of time

- Comfort with working in noisy, hot, or industrial environments

- Dexterity to operate hand and power tools effectively and safely

- Able to comfortably lift up to 60lbs repetitively throughout shift
