Cisco/Juniper WAN Engineer WAN Engineer to support our client located in St. Louis, MO. Duration: 6-8 months Location: St. Louis, MO Skills Required
- Overall, we are looking for skills that are part of a typical service provider network engineer.
- Public BGP peering with tier-1 ISPs, accepting full routing tables
- Private BGP peering, accepting customer routers
- Route filtering
- Traffic engineering using BGP based on AS path, prefixes, BGP communities, regular expressions
- Hands on knowledge of large-scale routers (Juniper MX and Cisco ASR)
- Ability to integrate Cisco and Juniper technology together
- Strong technical knowledge of eBGP and iBGP
- Strong technical knowledge of IGP's such as IS-IS and OSPF
- Establishing private peering relationships through Internet-exchanges
- Strong technical knowledge with last-mile dark fiber and leased lines
- Hands on experience with 100G and 400G technology with an understanding of how to fill these types of links
- Experience with remote co-location, OOB networks, and remote management of critical network infrastructure
- Experience establishing a presence in remote co-location facilities
- Basic python and shell scripting skills
- Independent and self-motivated worker
