Description/Job Summary2025 4-H Youth Futures or MANRRS 8-Week Internship Opportunity!At FCS Financial, part of the nationwide Farm Credit System, we are looking for 2025 4-H Youth Futures or MANRRS (Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences) Intern to join our Team! FCS Financial is a member of the largest agriculture lending cooperative in the United States today. At FCS, we seek individuals who share passion for agriculture, rural living and helping people achieve their goals and dreams!The 4-H Youth Futures College within Reach Program was designed by the University of Missouri 4-H Extension and Lincoln University Cooperative Extension. The focus is to help youth identify and aspire to reach personal postsecondary goals based on their strengths and values and to expand accessibility to the paths leading to such goals.The MANRRS Program is designed to promote academic and professional advancement by empowering minorities in agriculture, natural resources, and related sciences.The 4-H Youth Futures or MANRRS Internship is designed to expose the student to a specialized area of FCS Financial! This opportunity offers hands on experiences with our staff and specialists! Working with several mentors, interns can learn all of the components of the lending process, from meeting the customer and taking the application, through credit analysis and decision, to appraisal and loan closing. Interns will work primarily in our Central Office in Jefferson City, Missouri. Time will be spent focusing in areas of interest. The departments include: Human Resources, Information Services, Legal, Operations, Audit, Marketing, Accounting and Finance, Credit, Scorecard Lending, Information Services, Sales and Support, Appraisal, Crop Insurance, and Risk Management. The last few weeks of the internship program will allow the interns to customize their experience and focus on area of interest within the company.The 4-H Youth Futures or MANRRS Intern will also complete one or more projects identified by FCS that are hands-on in nature and are approved by our Executive Leadership Team to add value to the Association. Presentations to the Board of Directors, Executive and Senior Leadership Teams, mentors and other staff are done in late July prior to the end of the internship.Applications will be accepted until January 31, 2025, for the 2025 Summer 4-H Youth Futures or MANRRS Internship Program.Students must have participated in the 4-H Youth Futures Program or the MANRRS (Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences) Program in order to be considered for this internship opportunity.The starting hourly wage is $18.00 per hour (Subject to Change).This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.Department: Human Resources Reports To: Senior Vice President, Human Resources or DesigneeSupervises: NoneThis 8-Week Internship opportunity will begin in June and will conclude the last week of July.Internship Parameters:Eligible interns must be:

Enrolled as an undergraduate (sophomore, junior or senior) or as a graduate student in a 4-year institution of higher education in Missouri

Preference given to those first in their family to be enrolled in an institution of higher education

Preference given to those majoring in business, finance, agriculture, HR, or a related field

The internships will take place in the Summer of 2025 over a period of 8 weeks

Must have participated in the 4-H Youth Futures Program or the MANRRS (Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences) Program

The location of the internship site will primarily be at FCS Financial Central Office in Jefferson City, Missouri

FCS Financial will provide for reasonable housing and transportation costs and a per diem to cover the cost of food.

Learn the components of the lending process and working with customers

Learn credit fundamentals and credit philosophy

Learn the process of appraising real and chattel properties

Learn about the audit process.

Complete one or more projects identified by FCS that are hands-on in nature and designed to add value to the company.

Presentations to the Board of Directors, senior leadership, mentors and other staff will be conducted towards the end of the internship.

20%Communication

Work with several mentors within various areas of the Association.

Interact with FCS staff as a team member.

10%Marketing

Learn about customer relationships and marketing and contribute to FCS image as the leading agriculture financial institution committed to customers.

Required SkillsMinimum Qualifications

General knowledge of the agricultural industry

General knowledge of basic financial/accounting terms and applications

Skill in using Microsoft technologies including e-mail, word and spreadsheet processing

Oral and written communication skills sufficient to discuss a variety of job-related topics, and to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences

Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association's systems and data and clients' data
