ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY: The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri is a regional disaster and hunger-relief network that brings together community resources to share tens of millions of pounds of food with neighbors each year. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
have a valid Missouri State Class E driver’s license with large truck driving experience
be committed to safety practices as a driver and in a warehouse environment
be able to lift 70 pounds; load and unload deliveries with lifts and equipment
have acceptable driving history with minimal incidents/accidents
possess basic computer skills
be adaptable to consistent changing job duties
have good oral and written communication skills
be able to perform and calculate basic arithmetic problems
be comfortable instructing individuals and groups
be highly sensitive to the needs of the low income community
take initiative and be able to solve problems
have the ability to manage, organize and prioritize multiple tasks at once
welcoming of collaboration and working as a team
obtain a Food Handler’s permit or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment
possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
DUTIES:
Responsible for the scheduled operation of the Pantry’s Vehicle Fleet
Ensure orders from The Food Bank, local donors and food from Retail and Restaurant Rescue Programs are picked up
promptly on schedule
Maintain records for the Retail and Restaurant Rescue Programs
Load pick-ups/unload deliveries, collaborate on warehouse storage and pantry stocking
Ensure freshness of perishable produce through rapid distribution and strategic storage
Stock pantry floor and maintain organization of warehouse
Ensure cleanliness of pantry and warehouse
Assist in serving neighbors and maintaining knowledge of the intake process
Assist in training of volunteers in using the intake software
Assist in orienting, directing and coordinating volunteers to perform daily activities
Assist with coordination of CSFP (Commodity Supplemental Food Program) and VIP Veteran Pack’s
Assist with coordination of pantry deliveries; documenting and submitting orders, building orders and organizing
orders for pick-up
Answer phone and direct calls as needed
Communicate with Central Pantry Manager and Director of Central Pantry about issues and concerns
