Description A current opening through Robert Half, seeks an ambitious, determined Controller to join the team at a prominent services company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Southaven, Mississippi region.Your responsibilities

Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective Requirements - Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills

Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

Strong communication and social skills

Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

Strong attention to detail

Prior work done in public accounting is desired

Proven knowledge of financial statement preparation

Perform Month-end experience

Month-end Reports experience preferred

Month-end Close Activities experience desired

Expertise in Month-end Financial

Deep understanding of Month-end Journal Entries

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Vow to meet business deadlines

Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
