Provides problem resolution and system admin support. Understand technical changes and advancements in server infrastructure environments.The Main Responsibilities
Monitor all batch flow processing and insure timely completion of endpointsIdentify delays or bottlenecks using proprietary and vendor tools and resolve or escalatePerform level 1 and level 2 supports and resolution for all batch abendsTrack incoming and outgoing transmissions ensuring they meet deadlines, escalating to appropriate vendors and Datacenter management when necessaryMonitor real time performance of the computing environment utilizing automated solutions, 3rd party monitoring software and in-house proprietary toolsDocument system monitoring gaps and interface with engineers to remediate gaps and improve monitoring messagingRecommend severity and urgency threshold changes in system monitoring softwarePerform scheduled and unscheduled system shutdown and startup (IPL) utilizing the Hardware Management Console (HMC); perform environmental verifications after IPL is completePerform and verify system configuration changes as specified during weekend maintenanceRespond to all hardware faults or failures requiring escalation and support toward resolving these incidents.Report them via problem tracking software and escalate to management based on severityRespond to all console messages and alerts requiring intervention and actionTrack and document all outages and incidents which adversely impact the environment
What We Look For in a Candidate
Knowledge of Real time Unix/Linux based Ensemble customer care & Billing Infrastructure tools
Hands on experience of scheduling concepts
Assoc degree or equivalent education and relevant experience.
8 years related experience in specific area or equivalent.
2+ years’ experience in mainframe JCL (Job Control Language)
2+ years’ experience using Unix and or Linux
2+ years’ experience using Control-M or other Batch scheduling tool
Available to work on a rotating 12.5-hour schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
May require technical certification
CompensationThe starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location.
