job detailsjob summary:Large utility is looking for a Gas Measurement Engineer in Jackson, MI. The project engineer will provide technical expertise in measurement equipment for capital projects, coordinating with various internal departments to ensure proper design, procurement, and installation, while focusing on gas measurement and compliance with safety codes. This is a contract position estimated to last 12 months, possible extension, possible temp to perm. Project scoping, design engineering, and design review/support (50%).
Equipment/material procurement and construction coordination/support (30%).
Equipment specification and development of department standards (10%).
Field/O&M technical support (10%).
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Technical writing experience in engineering specifications.
Team collaboration with diverse responsibilities.
Project engineering experience.
Ability to diagnose and address process gaps (problem-solving).
Desired Skills:
Advanced degree in a technical or scientific field.
Energy industry background, specifically in natural gas chromatography and metering equipment.
Knowledge of gas measurement equipment and electronic flow measurement.
Understanding of relevant codes (AGA, API, PHMSA, gas measurement codes).
Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Proficiency in software applications (Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Arriba, measurement software).
