We achieve growth through the development of innovative new products and services, including lighting, lighting controls, building management solutions, and location-aware applications.Job SummaryEnvironmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory statutes, permit obligations, and company requirements. This position supports facility leadership and operations in strengthening EHS performance and compliance through continuous improvement, in order to keep our associates safe and protect our environment.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and in accordance with Acuity Brands Lighting Values (listed below). Requires a degree in related field (Safety, Engineering, Environmental or Science or equivalent) or equivalent job-related experience.
Three to Seven years of related experience in a Manufacturing/Industrial environment
In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance with federal, state & local EHS requirements including OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, NEC, EPA
Must possess strong problem-solving skills and experience in troubleshooting process EHS issues.
Experience with lean manufacturing is preferred.
High degree of comfort with computer usage and software (Microsoft products)
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business journals, procedures, and government regulations
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from department personnel
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures
