Summary:

You will support the Fleet Service team in maintaining and ensuring our fleet remains in optimal working condition, while also ensuring it stays clean and well-presented. Additionally, you will step in to cover the Fleet Service Manager’s duties when necessary.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Ensure the fleet is maintained in optimal working conditions and consistently presented with a clean, professional appearance.

2. Assist in evaluating equipment to determine when it should be replaced.

3. Manage company-owned tools, ensuring proper check-in and check-out as required.

4. Support training and coaching of team members in mechanical repairs, fleet maintenance, and equipment usage.

5. Properly apply IFTA, MN Dept. of Health labels, and DOT stickers to equipment as necessary.

6. Diagnose and address abnormally high failure rates in fleet equipment.

7. Maintain a clean and organized appearance in both the building and yard.

8. Promote Traut Companies’ products and services.

9. Assist with unloading freight as needed.

10. Use computer systems to access and update maintenance files.

11. Perform DOT inspections, service all types of company equipment.

12. Wear clean uniforms and maintain a professional, neat appearance at all times.

13. Actively participate in all training sessions, workshops, and other learning opportunities.

14. Ensure the shop is kept clean, organized, and safe for all employees.

15. Adhere to all DOT regulations and Traut Companies’ safety rules, procedures, and policies.

16. Collaborate with fellow employees in a respectful and professional manner.

17. Help in other areas as needed.

Job Standards:

Level of Education: High School Education

Level of Experience: Welding and Mechanical Repairs Experience Preferred

Abilities and Skills: Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Welding, Electronic Abilities. Must have own tools to perform job duties

Certification Requirements: Brake Inspection Certificate (Will train), DOT Inspector (Will train),

CDL endorsement (Will train)
