CAREER OPPORTUNITY - ASSISTANT TEACHER
General Description:
Aldrich School in Rochester, Minnesota is seeking an Assistant Teacher to be responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher in the planning and implementing of all class activities.
Essential Functions:
Assist in planning and conducting a curriculum that takes into account individual and group needs and should help children develop their physical, social, intellectual and emotional selves. This may include but is not limited to: group time, music, art experience, science, reading, gross and fine motor skill development, social skills, and dramatic play.
Maintain regular communication and collaboration with the Lead Teacher and Aide to develop weekly lesson plans, activities, and to discuss the progress of each child.
Help maintain an attractive, safe, and interesting environment for learning.
Assist the Lead Teacher, by observing the individual development of each child and recording such observations for the use of the Lead Teacher.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older
High School or GED Diploma (CDA or BS in Early Childhood Education preferred)
Experience with toddlers and/or preschoolers
Strong communication skills and ability to be a team player
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
Have necessary computer skills to complete requirements of the position, including but not limited to maintaining an e-mail account, registering online for continuing education, preparing newsletters, and tracking student growth
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
Hours, Compensation & Benefits
Full and Part-time hours are available, following the Aldrich calendar.
Aldrich teachers receive compensation based on their qualifications and years of experience, with a minimum pay rate of $15/hour.
Full-time employees are eligible for health insurance and life insurance coverage.
