Earn a competitive wage, have affordable and comprehensive insurance benefits, a retirement plan, paid time off, and more!As a Registered Nurse (RN) for the MVH-Preston, you will deliver care within the RN scope of practice, as defined in the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and in accordance with current federal, state and Veteran Administration regulations. Provide assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver quality resident-centered care to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the residents.T his position is designated as part-time and primarily day shift. The work schedule will include at least 64 hours per 2-week pay period and may include additional work hours, based on business needs. The position is initially eligible for a full employer contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits.Minimum QualificationsPlease ensure that your resume/application clearly describes your experience in the areas listed below and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license with no restrictions

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

Knowledge of nursing practices and techniques sufficient to provide effective nursing care for residents

Skill in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships

Effective communication skills sufficient to provide and instructions

Computer experience sufficient to complete electronic charting and use basic computer functions such as email

Ability to make decisions within the scope of nursing responsibilities

Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care provided by other staff, make or recommend changes, and provide mentoring

Ability to teach self-help skills to residents

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a skilled nursing facility

Long-term care experience

Geriatric care experience

Experience with MDS assessments

A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s). When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.

A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
