The complexity of this role can be challenging. You will be working on strategic programs with responsibility for providing architectural leadership to key initiatives across the organization. You will be expected to ensure that the programs align to the IT strategy, leverage enterprise components and capabilities, advance the state of our IT assets, and expand and improve on our enterprise engineering strategy. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities:- Provide engineering support and direction in storage related projects
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of new products and technologies
- Ensure best practice solutioning across storage platforms
- Assist with the planning, design, and implementation of storage technologies
- Promote standards, guidelines, and policies for the use and integration of technology
- Collaborate with key support, architecture, and operations teams
- Educate customers and provide easy and clear roadmap of the storage platform
- Provide storage design consulting for customers as well as root cause issue analysis
- Bachelor's Degree or related field experience
- 5+ years of experience with SAN, NAS, object storage, software defined storage and/or hyper-converged infrastructure
- Storage engineering experience with knowledge in all aspects of designing, developing, managing large real-time systems
- Experience around networks and iSCSI protocol
- Scripting and/or Python programming experience
- Public (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.) and private (VMWare) cloud storage and container technology (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.) experience
- Engineering experience with a variety of technologies including, but not limited to, HDS, HPe, NetApp, IBM, INFINIDAT, Dell/EMC, Brocade FC technologies
- EPIC architecture experience
- Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks
- Interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with solid communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive
- Great communication skills
- Great time management skills
- Ability to lead a design initiative from start to finish
