In this role, you will leverage both your technical breadth and business acumen to support the newly approved therapy medical device software and participate in the design and development of next generation medical devices.This position is in Mounds View, MN within the Coronary & Renal Denervation Operating Unit and requires on-site presence four days a week.We believe that when people from different cultures, genders, and points of view come together, innovation is the result —and everyone wins. Medtronic walks the walk, creating an inclusive culture where you can thrive.A Day in the Life :As a Principal Scrum Master within the CRDN Organization, you are accountable for working with your scrum team(s), product owner(s), and leaders to deliver capabilities that meet overall business objectives using Agile frameworks. The team is responsible for developing and supporting firmware, embedded, GUI and application software for stand-alone medical devices. This role is expected to guide global scrum teams through the development of new product capabilities, features, and solutions that support business strategies and initiatives. This role will continuously develop and improve software development and execution.In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Principal Software Engineer – Scrum Master role. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

Lead the global Scrum Teams through the SDLC for medical devices following IEC 62304/82304.

Facilitate the team’s progress toward the goal: act as team facilitators and is constantly engaged in providing direction and keeping the team focused on the goals of the iteration.

Lead the team’s efforts in continuous improvement: This includes helping the team improve, helping the team take responsibility for their actions, and helping the team become problem solvers for themselves.

Eliminate impediments: Many blocking issues will be beyond the team’s authority or will require support from other teams. This role actively addresses these issues so that the team can remain focused on achieving the objectives of the iteration.

Coordinate with the Product Owner, UX Lead, Development Lead, and DevOps in Release Planning.

Facilitate preparation and readiness for scrum events and planning sessions.

Coach the software development team on agile development and compliance to the organization’s internal procedures, standards and regulations.

Work with different stakeholders and Cross-function team to prioritize team work according to business needs.

Decompose and elaborate on feature requirements and management of scrum team backlog

Cross function team collaboration with HW and systems partners, including integration team, Quality, System V&V…etc.

Accountable for the quality, robustness, predictability, and completeness of the scrum team’s output, including tracking and reporting software quality metrics.

Provide leadership in solving engineering problems and fostering creativity and innovation in design and problem solutions.

Anticipate the need for new development tools, methods, technologies, and processes.

The successful candidate will have:

Experience leading agile software development teams

Previous experience as Scrum Master, Development Lead, or Software Manager

Experience in providing guidance, coaching, and training to the team in Agile best practices.

Hands-on experience in developing, debugging, and troubleshooting SW issues.

Qualifications -MUST HAVE - MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, PLEASE BE SURE THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ARE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical engineering, or related technical field.

Minimum of 7 years of technical experience, or advanced degree with 5 years of experience

Nice to Have

Agile SAFe training/experience

Cogent, concise written communication

Ability to distill software requirements from system requirements.

Familiarity with Agile testing quadrants

Understanding and appreciation of SDLC process and tools (e.g. JIRA, Bitbucket, Gitlab, Jenkins.)

Experience in scoping and cost estimates for projects.

Engagement with and overseeing 3rd party software design partners as needed.
