POSITION SNAPSHOT
The Fleet Services Administrator supports the Fleet Manager in overseeing all fleet vehicle operations and maintenance contracts to guarantee timely and effective preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and reporting. This position is responsible for coordinating, managing, and supervising maintenance activities and performance standards.
This position requires local travel between MVTA locations and the flexibility for after-hour events and on-call duties.
KEY CONTRIBUTIONS
Uphold established standards for vehicle maintenance and equipment performance, ensuring compliance with all maintenance contract terms and conditions in accordance with Federal and State guidelines.
Measures and reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Monitor warranties and recall activities, ensuring prompt repairs of buses.
Collaborate with vendors and body shops on estimate processes.
Conduct regular inspections of fleet vehicle conditions and maintenance to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
Maintain required fleet, maintenance, and inspection records.
Input data into vehicle maintenance software program, reviewing work orders to ensure contractors follow required processes.
Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to vehicle conditions or issues.
Assist with onsite audits of fleet vehicles and equipment.
Facilitate the oversight of the removal and installation of vehicle graphics and wraps.
Serve as the point of contact for new and replacement fleet vehicle delivery and in-servicing activities.
Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to implement efficiencies that reduce road calls and vehicle downtime.
Manage Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) and fuel invoice approval.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
CORE COMPETENCIES & CREDENTIALS
Associate degree in fleet management, automotive technology, or related field or vocational school training with a focus on passenger and large vehicle maintenance or diesel technology
2+ years of experience in vehicle fleet maintenance or related field
Minnesota Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake and passenger endorsements, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
General knowledge of CDL air brakes, pre-trip, and passenger transport
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in diesel technology, automotive technology, fleet management, or related field
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Technician certification
Department of Transportation (DOT) Inspector’s certification
Minnesota UST Operator certification
Training in Transit Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security Emergency Preparedness
Experience in large vehicle fleet maintenance
Experience with AssetWorks M5 fleet maintenance software
Experience with OPW Fuel System software
