Job Description
Looking for a SQL developer with at least 3-4 years of experience, who will be responsible transferring data to a new database model. You will also work with other developers optimizing in-application SQL statements as necessary, and establishing best practices. You will help solve all database usage issues and come up with ideas and advice that can help avoid such problems in the future. Experience writing stored procedures and functions is required. Experience with JSON, CDC, CLR, Full Text, Spatial, Always On would be nice to have.
Candidate should be local to Minneapolis / Saint Paul. Remote applicants will not be considered.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures, functions and views using T-SQL
Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements and implement or improve indexes as necessary
Develop procedures and scripts for data migration
Manage full text indexing and improve search engine performance
Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
Handle common database procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
Profile server resource usage and optimize and tweak as necessary
Create and maintain SSRS reports
Create and maintain SSIS jobs
Prepare documentations and specifications related to SQL tasks
Skills and Qualifications
Excellent understanding of T-SQL programming
Skilled at optimizing large complicated SQL statements
Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases
Capable of configuring databases and managing a clustered SQL environment
Capable of troubleshooting common database issues
Familiar with tools that can aid with profiling server resource usage and optimizing it
Proficient understanding of related tools such as Git / Redgate Tools / Jira
