Vinai Restaurant (1300 2nd St NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413) is ready to hire a General Manager to open and lead one of the most anticipated restaurants in Minnesota! Vinai will be the flagship of Chef Yia Vang’s restaurants which have already won numerous awards and acclaim locally and nationally.

Salary range is anticipated to be $70000-75000 plus performance-based bonuses, along with competitive health insurance, paid time off, and other benefits. This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position. The General Manager will report to the Owner and CFO/COO.

Planned hours of operation to start will be Tuesday-Saturday, dinner service only.

Responsibilities:

Provide an exceptional, memorable, and consistent guest experience.

Manage all restaurant operations including but not limited to: business management, staff management, inventory control, cost management, supplies, protocols, systems, guest service, media, reporting, strategy, and more.

Create and maintain a culture of excellence, hospitality, passion, respect, diversity, and growth.

Recruit, interview, hire, train, and maintain talented employees in various positions including other management and leadership roles.

Track finances and meet financial benchmarks.

Build and maintain restaurant sales.

Maintain the physical space in safe, clean, and excellent condition.

Lead in creating and innovating offerings and service.

Create and maintain systems for efficient operations.

Work within existing group structures.

Create and maintain relationships with vendors and other involved parties.

Act as an ambassador for Vinai and Hmong cuisine and culture.

Stay up to date with all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to restaurant operations.

Desired Qualifications:

Passion for Hmong cuisine and culture

Proven management experience

Experience in advanced food and beverage services

Proven ability to lead independently without guidance

Technical proficiency in restaurant hardware and software and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new hardware and software

Able to work in a restaurant environment which may include being in various physical positions, lifting, and being around hazards

Full-time and flexible availability

Strong organizational skills

Strong communication skills

Attention to detail

Proven ability to work with and manage a diverse team

Strong creative and innovative problem solving skills

Proven ability to maintain composure and positive attitude under pressure

Proven ability to make the best decision(s) and execute efficiently

Prior experience in opening a new restaurant

Reliable transportation

Strong networking skills

Standard restaurant maintenance skills
