Kabomelette is a well known food truck that also operates an omelette stand in two farmers markets. Vittles is a catering company. We are looking for someone that has knowledge of the culinary arts industry and is willing to work hard. This position will work directly under founder and chef, Greg Miller and a kitchen manager to execute the food needed for both of these businesses, fulfill the catering orders and work some shifts as a line cook in the food truck. This position will do everything from banquet style catering to preparing foods from scratch. There will also be a fair amount of prep work. May-October is our peak season, December is also fairly busy. November, January-April are are slower months. This is a 25-35 hour a week position. The hourly pay ranges from $20-$23 per hour plus gratuity.
Duties:
● The Willingness and Ability to Cross-Train and Work in Multiple Positions – We believe in the concept of ONE Kitchen, where your training and flexibility will enable you to become an expert in all roles within the kitchen or utilize the skills you already possess
● Prepare meals with other culinary professionals
● Handle and prepare food in accordance with sanitary guidelines and state regulations
● Prepare food that is tasty and appetizing in appearance
● Avoid food waste and maintain clean work station
● Provide every customer immediate and undivided attention
● Maintain the cleanliness of the area, keeping the food well stocked and properly rotated, while checking and ensuring freshness and quality of products. Stock containers, condiments, napkins and utensils as needed.
Skills / Requirements:
● Able to stand for 8 hours
● Must have kitchen experience
● Able to read and follow a recipe
● A self-starter who strives for team excellence
● Able to work weekends
