Who We Are
Busy, local bar and grill seeks all around short order cook to single handedly operate grill, fryer and broaster at a local Minneapolis establishment. The Cedar Inn has been a local watering hole for several decades and . We are well known in the neighborhood for having great chicken wings (voted best of City Pages in 2020) and affordable American grill fare – burgers, fresh cut fries, house specials, etc. We have a small, close knit team consisting of our ownership staff, long time kitchen manager/staff and bartenders.
Who You Are
A short order line cook with bar/grill experience. Must be able to multi-task, take direction, and work quickly and efficiently. Must be reliable and can tolerate hot kitchen conditions and standing for long periods of time. Must be able to communicate effectively with other staff members and work well as a part of a small team. We are looking for someone with open availability, We have two shifts 10:30 am 5:00 Pm , 5:00 pm -12:30 am ). May work up to 40 hrs weekly. You will receive compensation in the form of an hourly wage of $18-20 hour + tips, pto , profit sharing Permanent schedule to be discussed with outstanding kitchen staff to accommodate restaurant needs.
Basic Job Duties (Cook)
Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and maintain consistency
Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients
Bake, grill, broast meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods
Present and arrange final dishes
Serve food/deliver to customers
Maintain a clean and safe work are, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes
Handle and store ingredients and food
Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
Able to obtain certification in food safety from Minneapolis Department of Health
