In this exciting role as Sanctions & Export Controls Analyst, you will be responsible for creating and improving existing trade compliance processes to facilitate deliveries of life saving products to patients in sanctioned markets. You will be working collaboratively alongside senior colleagues to interpret sanctions imposed by the U.S. Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry & Security (BIS) and U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and evaluate its impact on Medtronic. In addition, you will be working in a team environment to implement sanctions in SAP GTS system, programmatic work on U.S., EU and Swiss license activation, as well as restricted parties screening. You will support escalations from internal customers and external team of contingent employees to run day-to-day business.This role requires cross-functional collaboration with regional Global Trade teams, Customer Care, IT, Regulatory, Global Trade Legal & Compliance, and Business representatives of sanctioned countries to execute on Medtronic mission in all corners of the world.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
·Interpret BIS and OFAC sanctions and how they impact Medtronic’s business activities in sanctioned countries.·Research Medtronic products using internal systems DCI, Power BI, SAP GTS to identify material characteristics such as HS code, ECCN, Operating Unit, selling UOM (unit of measure), FDA product class or code numbers. Seek ways to leverage any of these data to implement commodity level sanctions imposed by BIS and/or OFAC for specific markets. ·Seek ways to leverage existing Trade blocks in SAP GTS (USSPL, ZEXP1, USEAR, USOFC, ZEXUS, ZEXBY, ZEUBY, ZCHBY) to implement new sanctions, and improving existing processes to standardize block strategy across sanctioned countries.·Activate BIS licenses in SAP GTS system using correct license type, legal units, materials, pricing, qty, validity period as authorized by licenses. ·Review escalations (internal or external partner) for blocked orders and take ownership to get those resolved in a timely manner. ·Ability to work with large data in excel to conduct analysis and communicate trends that can drive business decisions. ·Prepare PowerPoint slide decks to communicate qualitative or quantitative analysis done on assigned project, task, or a topic.·Review escalations related to failed restricted parties screening or blocked orders and work with relevant stakeholders to resolve those. ·Conduct enhanced due diligence, complex ownership traceability and investigations of parties tied failed screening, and ability to make recommendations based on imperfect information. ·Any other duties as required to meet the business needs. ·Strong problem-solving skills. Team player, consistent positive attitude, ability to work in a diverse global work environment.

PR) locations (USD):$60,400.00 - $90,600.00The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
