Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in the Retail industry, located in Edina, Minnesota, 55410, United States. In this role, you will be managing the financial accounting activities, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, and assisting with strategic planning. Responsibilities Manage all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and purchasing Review, evaluate and implement accounting systems, policies, and procedures Prepare financial statements and related reports including balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis Coordinate annual independent audit and preparation of annual tax documents Direct budget preparation, review budget proposals, and prepare necessary supporting reports and analysis Monitor receivables to ensure credit risk is mitigated Oversee accounts payable function, ensuring compliance with expense reporting, capitalization policy, and purchase order procedures Assist with company strategic planning Handle special projects as required Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role within the Retail industry Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience in Auditing and Budget Processes Ability to handle high-level financial and accounting tasks Proactive and able to work independently and as part of a team Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's degree preferred) detail oriented certification such as CPA, CMA, or similar is a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong in Excel Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
