Description We are providing a unique opportunity located in TRAVERSE CITY, Michigan, for a Medical Records Clerk. This role is crucial in maintaining seamless communication between healthcare providers, patients, and other stakeholders within the healthcare industry. The job involves managing medical records requests and inquiries while maintaining exceptional customer service. This role offers a 90-day contract to hire employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Receive, process, and fulfill medical records requests from patients, healthcare providers, radiology department, legal entities, and other authorized parties. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of requested medical information while adhering to established protocols and guidelines. Provide courteous and efficient customer service via phone, email, and in-person interactions. Address inquiries related to medical records, including status updates, request forms, and release authorizations. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies. Adhere to all relevant privacy and security protocols when handling, storing, and transmitting medical records. Accurately document all interactions, requests, and relevant information in the electronic health record (EHR) system, CD imaging and others. Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all processed medical record requests. Identify and resolve issues related to medical records requests, including missing information, incomplete forms, and special handling instructions. Liaise with clinical and administrative staff to facilitate timely retrieval and delivery of medical records. Communicate effectively with internal teams, external requestors, and patients to ensure clear and accurate information exchange. Perform quality checks on processed medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards. Stay informed about updates in healthcare regulations and compliance standards, attending relevant training sessions as neededRequirements Strong Data Entry and ability to perform data entry tasks with high levels of accuracy Exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care Experience working in a Medical Records Department, with a thorough understanding of medical records management Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in a professional manner Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of the organization Detail-oriented and meticulous in record keeping and documentation Familiarity with healthcare industry standards and regulations related to medical records Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and Microsoft Teams.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
