The starting rate for this position is $16.52 per hour and varies based on experience.Job SummaryEntrance Attendants provide a resource to patients, family members and guests in the hospital and other campus buildings. They handle way-finding questions and personally escort patients/family members via wheelchair to destinations as appropriate. They work to assure spaces are clean, tidy and organized and direct traffic flow and provide assistance at the Hospital Entrances.Entrance Attendants handle symptom and exposure screening of incoming patients, families, vendors, delivery people, employees and physicians as they access buildings.Essential FunctionsPresent an excellent first impression to all customers by greeting them promptly with a warm and friendly reception.

Provide Hospital wayfinding for patients and visitors.

Support patient, family, guest information needs, including appropriate hospital resources to assist in problem resolution.

Maintain a clean and tidy first impression. Clean the lobbies, entrances and outside doorways.

Always maintain professionalism and diplomacy, following specific standards as defined in the department professionalism policy.

Perform Service Recovery and conflict resolution for unhappy guests. Work with Service Excellence to support positive outcomes and resolution to customer needs.

Assist patients and families in and out of their vehicles as needed at the hospital entrances. Maintain proper traffic controls at entrances to avoid congestion and prohibit illegal parking. Work with the Security & Valet teams as needed.

Round throughout the hospital and campus to locate wheelchairs and scooters. Clean them daily and tag them for repair as needed. Maintain appropriate volumes of chairs and scooters at each active entrance.

Surgical areas: Provide liaison activities between the clinical staff, physicians, and the patient companions. Problem solves, assist with communication as appropriate. Enter text page phone numbers for family members to be updated throughout the surgical procedure.

Assist with Lost and Found services as needed.

Maintain proper traffic controls at entrances to avoid congestion and prohibit illegal parking. Work with the Security & Valet teams as needed.

Assist with cab, bus vouchers and other transportation as needed.

Utilize effective communication skills to incorporate specific age, culture and developmental needs.

Qualifications

Required High School Diploma

Completion of department-based training with demonstrated competence. Required

CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - UNKNOWN

CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA

CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC
