Description:GC looking for a project superintendent local to metro-Detroit to promote and enforce a safe work environment and safe work practices for all trade contractors and the overall construction site. This person will supervise and coordinate various contractors to ensure their work is completed on schedule and in accordance with the contract documents. Ensure a quality product for the owner. Responsibilities include the following: Enforce corporate safety policies on jobsite, providing key responsibility for safety compliance in the field. Implement proactive pre-task safety planning for all work activities Supervise, coordinate and sequence contractors’ work Monitor performance and coordinate work to maintain productivity of trades, ensuring adequate manpower for work in place Develop and maintain complete and detailed project schedule and manage work in accordance with the schedule Coordinate and track material deliveries Develop site logistics plans for entire project to maximize productivity Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by enforcing contract requirements and limiting field changes Assist with development of work scopes and front-end documents Work with Municipalities and Subcontractors to schedule and pass inspections necessary for Temporary and Final Certificates of Occupancy. Communicate effectively with the Project Manager Effective, timely resolution of conflicts and disputes to minimize delays and claims Local travel to job sites will be necessary, and most projects are within Metro Detroit and surrounding areas.
